Dr. Justin Hata is a physiatrist trained in interventional pain management as well as in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). He is chair and program director of the Department of PM&R, chief of the Pain Medicine Division and medical director of the multidisciplinary UC Irvine Center for Pain Management. Dr. Hata also serves as a co-director of UC Irvine's Comprehensive Spine Program, another multidisciplinary program that comprises orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery and nonsurgical treatment of back pain. His areas of expertise include back pain, neck pain, limb and joint pain, acute and chronic pain, post-operative pain and musculoskeletal problems. Dr. Hata earned his medical degree at New York Medical College. He completed a residency in PM&R at UC Irvine Medical Center, where he then completed a fellowship in interventional pain medicine under the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care. He is double board certified in Pain Management and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. His clinical and research interests include treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions, interventional management of neck and back pain, nerve pain conditions, spinal cord stimulation, intrathecal drug delivery, musculoskeletal pain and management of spasticity. |
